West Legal Career Counseling for Attorneys
Dear Colleague:
Thank you for your interest in West Career Counseling for Attorneys (WCCA). The WCCA information on our website is designed to help you determine whether you want our assistance with your job search and/or career change. In order to assist you more effectively, please provide us with the following information, if available and relevant to your situation. Please do this before contacting us to schedule a consultation:
1. The specific services you are seeking (please refer to the website page entitled "Who Should Consider Legal Career Transition Counseling" for a description of our services). Note: The services requested most often are:
- Determining—with specificity—where you can realistically go with your particular combination of background, skills, and interests.
- Preparing the best possible legal resumes, cover letters, and other presentation documents.
- Discovering viable and rewarding legal career alternatives and employers (both mainstream and non-traditional).
- Learning how and where to "network" effectively (and without embarrassment or anxiety).
- Preparing for interviews (both substantively and "psychodynamically").
- Evaluating offers and negotiating compensation and other terms of employment.
Note: Click on "Career Counseling Request and Resume Submission Form" to indicate the specific services you are seeking. 2. A current copy of your resume (or other application document). Include this even if you are not seeking application document advice from us. It will help us learn about your background and employment history and save you preparation time expense.
You can paste your resume into the block provided in the "Career Counseling Request and Resume Submission Form".
3. [OPTIONAL] Your areas of legal/law-related expertise and/or interests(click on the link entitled "Optional Expertise and Interests Form").
4. [OPTIONAL] A summary of your ideal position (click on the link entitled "Getting Clear on Your Goal"). It is NOT essential that we have this. This is completely optional, but may be useful to certain candidates.
Upon receiving your materials, we will review them and contact you to schedule an appointment These materials will also help us to estimate any preparation time and corresponding cost.
We look forward to working with you.
Sincerely,
Richard L. Hermann, Esq.
